This year's rally, held from Jan 23 to Feb 9, saw competitors cover nearly 10,000 kilometres from Budapest to Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Palkovics noted that while the 260-hectare ZalaZONE track -- one of the world’s most modern facilities -- offers a four-kilometre continuous testing section, the rally effectively "straightened and extended that distance to nearly 10,000 kilometres."

The government commissioner for artificial intelligence praised the team's performance, emphasising that the event provides an opportunity to test vehicles under unpredictable weather and unfamiliar routes, giving engineers precise insights into how production cars perform in real off-road conditions. 
 

"The lessons learned will be valuable for the track's ongoing development," he said.

Palkovics added that preparations are already under way for next year's rally, which is expected to be longer and more complex. The team plans to expand testing capabilities and gather more operational data.
