Rental rates in the capital increased 5.1pc.

In a month-on-month comparison, home rental rates edged up 1.3pc both nationwide and in Budapest.

The median monthly rent for a home in Budapest stood at HUF 260,000 in February, an analysis by Ingatlan.com shows. The monthly rent in Debrecen, Hungary's second-largest city, was HUF 220,000.
