Heat Record Broken in Hungary on Saturday, in Budapest on Sunday

A temperature of 37.1 degrees Celsius was recorded in Aszod, near Budapest, on Saturday afternoon, the weather service said, adding that this also marks a new record for the summer season.
According to HungaroMet’s data, the previous record for this day was 37.0 degrees Celsius, recorded in Nyiregyhaza, in northeastern Hungary, and Szerep, in eastern Hungary, in 1908, and in Ujpest, in northern Budapest, in 2013.
Budapest heat record broken at 36.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday
The Budapest heat record was broken on Sunday at 36.5 degrees Celsius in Ujpest, in northern Budapest, the weather service HungaroMet said on its website.
According to HungaroMet’s data, the previous Budapest record for this day was 35.8 degrees Celsius, also recorded in Ujpest, in 2007.
