The winner of this year’s Brit Awards, also regarded as the band of the year by all relevant music forums, Arctic Monkeys will be performing at this year’s VOLT Festival! Not being in Europe during Sziget Festival the band agreed to please their fans in the region by playing a massive gig on 6 July (Sunday), right after the regular days of VOLT. Tickets go on sale this Friday.

Hungary ranks tenth among countries favoured as study destinations by Brazilian students, the business daily Napi Gazdaság reports. So far 1,888 students have been awarded scholarships from the Brazilian government to study in Hungary under the Science Without Borders state scholarship programme.

Multi-award winning Hungarian film director and screenwriter Miklós Jancsó, considered one of the film greats of the 1960s and 1970s, has died at the age of 92. Jancsó won best director award at the 1972 Cannes film festival for Red Psalm, and, in 1979, Cannes bestowed on him a lifetime achievement award.
