President Attila Schillinger of the Brewery Association and chairman Zsolt Gyenge of the Craft Beer Makers Association have asked Economy Minister Mihály Varga to lower the 27% VAT on draught beer to 18%.

Hungarian Winners At The Dublin Craft Beer Cup

Twenty-three Hungarian beers were awarded at the Dublin Craft Beer Cup competition, and the grand prize was taken by a Hungarian brewery as well, turizmusonline.hu reports. The Dublin Craft Beer Cup was part of the Alltech Brews and Food Fair, held on February 23-25. 370 European brews competed at the cup, among which were 44 beers from 10 Hungarian breweries.

Hotel Gellért will again host the only winter beer festival in Hungary. Visitors are welcome at the 2nd 'Indoor Beer Festival' which features unlimited beer tasting, as well as a 'Beer Dinner' and a 'Beer Brunch' held in the spirit of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy.

Around 50 different delicious doughnuts, from traditional to new-wave, will be served up to guests at this unique gastro fest. Street food and 'Carnival Dishes' will also feature at Budapest's 1st Doughnut Festival.
