This season, the organisers once again welcome audiences with the grandeur of opera premieres. In keeping with their longstanding tradition, they have invited internationally acclaimed vocalists to perform the lead roles in two major productions — renowned stars who have brought Verdi’s emotionally charged Nabucco to life on the world’s most prestigious opera stages.

On 18 June 2023, the Hungarian State Opera celebrates the greatest Hungarian soprano of the 20th century on the occasion of her birthday with performances by her former and current students, as well as the winners of the Éva Marton International Singing Competition.
’Geishas By The Danube’ Exhibition, Until 12 March

“Geisha” was one of the first Japanese words to enter the Hungarian language, which is why it appears in the title of this exhibition featuring: Authentic Japanese and Chinese objects, and the 'best of Hungarian Japonism'. The exhibition is open until 12 March 2017, and can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
