Hungarian Central Statistical Office has reported, in its survey, greater expenditure measures this October than last year. Retail turnover has risen by 2.5% according to the recent survey.

Annual inflation is projected to drop below 0.5% by the end of this year, London analysts said. The Global Sachs (GS) global financial service group said in its inflation forecast for Central and Eastern Europe that 12-month inflation in Hungary is expected to be 0.4% at the end of the year, primarily as a result of public utility fee cuts.

Budapest Airport and Ryanair have come up with a pleasant Christmas surprise enabling passengers to take onboard minor size duty free items purchased before departure. For the first time, small size duty free items will be allowed onboard Ryanair aircraft. This new rule comes in to effect as of 1st December 2013 on all flights of Ryanair across their network, including from Budapest Airport.
