The average listing price edged up from HUF 5.4m a year earlier.

Around 37pc of listings were for vehicles under HUF 2.5m and 28pc were for cars between HUF 2.5m and HUF 5.0bn. Dearer vehicles, listed for between HUF 5.0m and HUF 10.0m, made up 23pc of the total and vehicles over HUF 10.0m made up 12pc.

Cars with petrol engines accounted for just under half of listings and diesels for 41pc. Hybrid vehicles made up little under 5pc of listings and electric vehicles 5pc.

On average, petrol cars listed on Hasznaltauto.hu were 13.5 years old and had 154,000 km on the odometer. Cars with diesel engines were 12 years old and showed 220,000 km, on average.

Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi used cars have an average listed price of HUF 8.5-10.2m. The average price for Toyota, Kia, Skoda and Volkswagen cars are between HUF 4.6m and HUF 5.3m.

Ford cars cost somewhat less than HUF 4m and the price of Renault and Opel cars averages HUF 3m or below.
