My piece draws on the book of Esther. The book tells the story of how the Jewish-born Esther might have lived as a member of a people oppressed by the Persians, and later, concealing her origins, as the chosen one by the great world ruler Ahasuerus, as a queen of a foreign country.

Putting a little twist on the original saying, people can say whatever they want about a person that comes from afar. In case of Nadja Massun, the proverb may be even truer since she does come from very far she lives in Mexico but was born in Africa to a Hungarian mother and a Belgian father.
