More than 10,000 people are expected to turn out for the annual Budapest Pride Parade on Saturday, almost that many took part last year. Participants will gather on Kossuth tér at 3 p.m., from where the parade will leave for City Park, at 4 p.m. along a fenced-off route.

János Lázár, the cabinet chief, late on Tuesday asked the outgoing editor in chief of the Origo news portal to publicly deny rumours surrounding his dismissal. Gergő Sáling was “sacked” because Origo published articles concerning Lázár’s hotel bills, which critics have described as exorbitant, according to opposition demonstrators who held a protest against Sáling’s removal yesterday.
