Famous Performing Artists to Appear at Rally in Budapest for Iványi on 20 September
A number of prestigious Hungarian performing artists will display their talents at a demonstration organised for Blaha Lujza tér from 5 p.m. on Friday, September 20 in support of pastor Gábor Iványi.

Organisers reacted in response to the state’s closure of two schools run by Iványi’s the Evangelistic Fellowship Community directly before the start of the school year, leaving the future of 600 pupils, many of them with special needs, uncertain

No admission fee will be charged but organisers ask ordinary people to help Iványi’s work with their donations, so a collection box will be passed around on the premises.

Those who cannot attend the event, can send their donations to Ivány via the Szalmaszál Foundation.

Some of the artists due to perform are actor György Cserhalmi, musician Péter Gerendás, singer-songwriter János Bródy, actress Judit Halász and opera singer Andrea Rost.

The slogan of the event is “There is no such thing as impossible. You just have to take a step!”

Who is Gábor Iványi:

Pastor Gábor Iványi, former Member of Parliament, founder of the Hungarian Evangelical Fellowship, have had the mission to help the most impoverished for decades. He is an emblematic figure in Hungarian public life, speaking out whenever he can for the values he holds dear.

As a result, he is under constant attack from the current government, and his activities are gradually becoming impossible. The film follows his struggles over the past two years, while showing the man who cannot been broken.

Most of the charitable activities of the Hungarian Evangelical Fellowship are carried out by the Oltalom Charity Society. They run over 40 institutions across the country, trying to help the poorest and most vulnerable communities. They run schools, old people’s homes, maternity homes and homeless shelters.
