Embassies In Hungary Going Green And Fair Trade

"In January, the Dutch Embassy became the first embassy in Hungary to go Fair Trade. The embassy just placed their first order of Treehugger Dan's Fair Trade Kafequo coffee (55% arabica/45% robusta). The beans come from Peru and Tanzania, and are mixed and roasted by Caffe Agust in Italy. This move was quickly followed by the Gambian Embassy.

With the Embassy’s assistance a unique platform was created where jazz musicians and their audiences could come together to continue a tradition that enriches Hungary’s cultural scene.

"Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis and a group from the Embassy traveled to the city of Hódmezővásárhely to watch the U.S. Olympic water polo team play against the Hungarians on February 25.
