Ties Between Hungary & France 'in Good Shape'
French-Hungarian relations are "in good shape", Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in a video posted on social media on Thursday, adding that cooperation between the two countries was close on both political and economic matters.

Following his talks with President Emmanuel Macron, Marine Le Pen, a figurehead of the National Rally party, and former president Nicolas Sarkozy, Orban said he expected France to remain active in Hungary as a serious investor.

He said "all three presidents -- the former, the current and the future president" were in agreement that they did not want a "united states of Europe".

"France is France, everyone here is a patriot," Orban said. "Hungary is Hungary, and practically everyone is a patriot, apart from the left-wing opposition. So there will always be an agreement that we do not want to make Brussels into a superstate or subordinate our independence and sovereignty to anyone, including Brussels."
