The Siófok New Orleans Jazz Festival will be held for the 14th time on the main Square in Siófok, the south Balaton city. This is one of the largest traditional jazz events in Hungary, where bands from all over the country will be represented from gipsy swing through ragtime to dixieland, showcasing the diversity of the various genres.

The Central Chief Prosecution Office of Investigation has pressed charges against ruling Fidesz lawmaker Roland Mengyi and six others, the head of the office said on Tuesday. The lawmaker is charged with attempting to misappropriate public funds and abusing the powers of his office, Imre Keresztes said in a statement.

Budapest Corvinus University and the Central European University have signed a cooperation agreement, Corvinus University said on Friday. Educational and research relations between the two universities have strengthened recently and after months of preparatory work, the heads of the two institutions signed the cooperation deal on Monday.
