The Siófok New Orleans Jazz Festival will be held for the 14th time on the main Square in Siófok, the south Balaton city. This is one of the largest traditional jazz events in Hungary, where bands from all over the country will be represented from gipsy swing through ragtime to dixieland, showcasing the diversity of the various genres.

The first Budapest Circus Festival was held 20 years ago, in 1996 and as a result of the notion and casting of the professionals of the Hungarian Circus And Variety Non-profit Ltd. (MACIVA) it soon proved to be equal with the great festivals of the circus world: in addition to Monte Carlo, Latina and Moscow also Budapest has become an important meeting place for the circus art.
Popular Hungarian Bandleader Benkó Dies

Clarinet player Sándor Benkó, founder of the popular Benkó Dixieland Band, died on Tuesday at the age of 75, his family announced. Benkó started the group while a high school student in 1957. Its first album was certified a gold disc. The band toured the world, took part in many music festivals and received numerous awards. The band has no fewer than 1,800 professional recordings.
