Foxpost & Packeta Roll-Out Hungary’s Largest Parcel Locker Network
The merger of two major parcel delivery providers has resulted in the creation of Hungary’s largest parcel locker network.

Following the integration of Packeta and Foxpost, parcel dispatch has been unified across the system, and a new mobile application has also been introduced, according to Világgazdaság.

The most complex stage of the integration process has now been completed, with former Packeta Z-BOX parcel lockers continuing to operate under the Foxpost Z-BOX brand. As a result of the merger, the combined network now includes approximately 3,800 parcel lockers and 1,350 pickup points across the country.

Despite this milestone, Foxpost CEO Zoltán Radeczky emphasized that the process is still ongoing. A key development is the launch of the new Foxpost mobile application, which enables users to manage the entire parcel locker network through a single platform.

The app allows customers to send and collect parcels, track shipments, and pay cash-on-delivery charges directly within the system.

The application is available on both iOS and Android devices. Existing Packeta users can log in using their previous credentials, without needing to create a new account, and their parcel history as well as active shipments will automatically appear after signing in.

The app was introduced following several weeks of testing, and further updates and improvements are expected. Radeczky noted that the coming months will focus on refining the system, expanding services, and completing the remaining integration tasks.

The merger also brings changes to how parcels are dispatched. Registered users are now required to pay shipping fees at the time of creating a shipment via the SimplePay payment system.

While this process will already be familiar to former Packeta Z-BOX users, it marks a shift for Foxpost customers. Previously, users of Foxpost’s A-BOX parcel lockers were able to pay shipping fees on-site using a bank card. Under the new system, this option remains available only for parcels sent without user registration.

Radeczky acknowledged that the updated process may take some getting used to for existing Foxpost customers, but he underlined that a unified system is necessary to operate and further develop the expanded network more efficiently, as well as to improve overall service quality.

The final phase of the integration has not been without challenges. Although the switchover was originally scheduled for the quieter summer period, parcel volumes turned out to be significantly higher than expected, complicating the transition and leading to an increase in operational issues.

According to Foxpost, one of the main reasons behind the surge in parcel traffic was a sharp rise in orders from China ahead of new European Union customs measures that came into effect on 1 July.

The company stated that it has introduced several measures to stabilise operations and is continuing to expand capacity in order to resolve remaining issues. Service disruptions are becoming less frequent, and overall performance is gradually improving.
