’We Belong Together’ Hungary Before Trianon In Drawings @ Hungarian National Gallery

Marking the Year of National Cohesion, the exhibition of the Hungarian National Gallery presents close to 60 works selected from the illustrations of one of the largest-scale undertakings in Hungarian book publishing: a 21-volume series titled The Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in Word and Picture, published between 1886 and 1901.
'Annual Remembrance Ceremony' This Sunday

The Annual Service of Remembrance organised by the British Embassy will be held on Sunday 8 November. The traditional service and wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the Commonwealth War Cemetery of Solymár at 10:55.

“Over the past 1100 years, Hungarians have experienced much more serious crises than the current one, but emerged victorious from every one of them”, Minister of Human Capacities Miklós Kásler emphasised at a ceremony in Budapest on Tuesday to present state awards to mark the 20 August national holiday, and awards postponed from the 15 March memorial day of the 1848 revolution.

Update: Due to the current travel restrictions the concert was postponed. The Kusturicas’ joyous, unmistakable and unstoppable, tempestuous music will be heard on Margaret Island Open-Air Stage in July in the form of Balkan rumbas, searing rhythms and abandoned passion.
