If you are looking to add some pizzazz to your public transport in Budapest, catch a vintage vehicle! On weekends, heritage trams, buses and trolleybuses whisk you away to your destination offering a journey through time alongside your commute.
Budapest offers some truly unique travel experiences, such as the Funicular, carrying you up to the Buda Castle, the continent's first underground, or the Children's Railway in the Buda Hills.
Until October, old-fashioned vehicles join the fleet: every weekend, you can hop on a heritage bus, tram, or trolleybus to experience what it was like to travel in the last century.
When in Budapest during the summer, don't miss these joyful rides. You can also ask the conductors about the vehicles and even ring the tram's bell at the final station.
To use the service, you have to buy tickets, but the good news is that you can also go paperless and get them on your phone via the Budapest Go app.
