Anti-corruption protests took place across Hungary today. In Budapest the demonstration started in front of the Eiffel Palace Office Building near the Nyugati (western) train station. A few minutes before the scheduled start of the protest it seemed as though police and members of the press would outnumber the protesters.

Last year, monthly household consumption grew by an annual 2.7% in real terms to an average of 68,609 forints (EUR 228) per person, the first time growth has been registered in eight years, the Central Statistical Office reported.

The human resources ministry has strongly condemned the damaging of images displayed at an openair Holocaust exhibition in central Budapest, calling the vandalism “shocking and appalling”. “The perpetrators desecrated not only Holocaust survivors, but the entire Jewish community, the whole of the Hungarian nation, all decent Hungarians by their mindless, vandal act,” the ministry said.
New Documents Reveal How Hungary’s Malév Went Bankrupt

A new Hungarian airline company under the name of Veritas should have been operational ten months before the Malév bankruptcy. However, this did not happen as state investors intentionally delayed the star while Malév was consuming an enormous amount of state funds recently published inside documents reveal about the 2012 Malév-case.
