Lázár: Sport ‘National Cause’

The government considers sports as a “strategic sector and a national cause”, János Lázár, the government office chief, told a weekly press briefing. The opposition LMP party has called for talks with other opposition parties to discuss changing the election rules with a view to allowing Hungarians staying abroad to vote by mail. Ákos Hadházy, LMP’s co-leader, told a press conference that his party would also discuss ways to eliminate discrepancies in the election system as well as opportunities for election fraud.
