He argued that in the current regime ethnic Hungarians with Hungarian citizenship will automatically receive election notifications for ten years upon their registration, and the names of voters passing away in the meantime could be used to commit fraud.
On another subject, Hadházy said that European Union funds were being “systematically and deliberately looted with assistance from the Hungarian government”.
He insisted that foundations and companies associated with lawmakers of ruling Fidesz had won billions of forints in community funds for projects “which were obviously not serious”.
Commenting on calls to give Hungarian voters abroad the same right to vote by mail as ethnic Hungarians living beyond the borders have, government office chief János Lázár told a news conference that voting regulations cannot be changed before the upcoming referendum, adding that all consequences of such a move would have to be assessed first.
