Nowadays the presence of foreign citizens may be considered as natural which was far from habitual in our country 20-30 years ago. Because of this change the Hungarian legislation had to go through a significant progress in order to insure sufficient flexibility regarding the entry and residence of foreigners.

On Thursday Angelina Jolie completed shooting the Hungarian locations of her new film, so on the following day the Hollywood dream-couple flew back to America. Budapest was home for a few months for Jolie and Pitt and the city was abuzz with their presence. Budapest received huge publicity while hosting the stars, but a few mysteries about their stay here cannot yet be deciphered.

The Annual Report of the Hungarian Parliamentary Commissioner for Civil Rights on the activities in year 2009 interlaced with a Summary of the Children’s Rights Project 2008-2010 was displayed at the Parliamentary Commissioners’ Office in Budapest recently.

"The British Embassy together with the Raoul Wallenberg Association organised a ceremony on 15 October at which a plaque was unveiled commemorating the courageous efforts of Raoul Wallenberg. The Swedish diplomat gave shelter for Hungarian Jews in the building of the British Embassy (Hazai Bank at that time).
