More than 1,000 foreign people smugglers are serving legally binding prison sentences in Hungary, an official of the National Judicial Office (OBH) said on Thursday, adding that this was twenty times as many people as were imprisoned a few years ago.

After a long wait, we have finally received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs how much the luxury trip of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and his 40-person entourage to Vienna cost to the taxpayers last July. Although the Austrian capital is just a few hours’ drive from Budapest, Orbán and his delegation spent a night out for a brief meeting with the Austrian chancellor.

Idly looking around online for things of a cultural bent to do in the capital, I landed on the Müpa Budapest website and was struck by how many of the events were sold out, particularly as we’re talking pretty high culture.
