State food safety office Nébih has imposed restrictions on the movement of horses in nine villages in eight counties to contain an outbreak of infectious anaemia, known as swamp fever, among the animals. HVG reported on Wednesday that several horses had to be killed in recent days because of the disease.

The Hungarian government is planning to draft legislation on restricting the consumption of energy drinks, according to State Secretary at the Ministry of Human Resources Bence Rétvári. Responding to a written question submitted to the ministry by independent MP Lajos Oláh, who asked whether the government has plans to ban the sale of energy drinks to young people.
