The World Meeting of Weekend Hungarian Schools concerned with the language teaching of Hungarians living beyond the borders and the preservation of their cultural identity began in Budapest. Some 100 Hungarian teachers are coming to the one-week event from 4 continents.

By Kathy Megyeri: In 2007, my husband was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit of the Republic of Hungary for his outstanding actions during the 1956 Revolution, his promotion of Hungary's membership to NATO, and his achievements among Hungarian Americans. He proudly wore his medal each day to signal his pride as a Hungarian-American.
