Round I of the Gift of the Gab 2015 went off in style at the Cotton Club last night. More than 100 people showed up to support the five speakers in their quest for a place in the March 2015 final. A great night was had by all. Well, I had a blast. Despite the nerves. No one died. All survived. And we raise a whopping 105 000 huf for our orphanage. The 2015 Gift of the Gab kicks off this Wednesday evening (17 September) at 7.30pm in the Cotton Club on Jokai Utca. Five contestants - Marcus Frakes (USA), Gerard Lucey (IRE), Jwana Stevenson (NI), Steven Nelson (USA), and Harlan Cockburn (UK) - will take to the stage in an effort to see which of them has the gift of the gab - that innate ability to talk about anything, to anyone, anywhere.

The autumn session of the Hungarian parliament is set to start on Sept. 15 and lawmakers will have a weekly schedule until December, Fidesz lawmaker Gergely Gulyás told daily Magyar Nemzet. Weekly sessions are needed because of the great volume of legislation, he said.
