"We arranged a screening of the new Bond film, Skyfall, last week. On the same day it premiered here in Budapest. And we invited our closest contacts and friends to share the evening with us. It was great to see members of government, politicians, people from ministries, NGOs and just friends of the Embassy relaxing at the movies.

A suitcase once belonged to Imre Nagy was handed over to Katalin Jánosi, Nagy's granddaughter and the Imre Nagy Foundation yesterday, in the presence of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. It has recently been obtained from Bosnia and Hercegovina and will be kept in the Imre Nagy Memorial House of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Not everyone is pleased with the Hungarian Government pursuing conservative values, the Minister said in his interview, adding that Hungary does not reject others' views and only expects respect from them. One of the criticisms towards Hungary is that the constitution contains the line: “God bless the Hungarians”, even though several other countries’ constitutions include God as well.

British Foreign Secretary, William Hague, visited Budapest on 4 October. He was here for a short time – just 5 working hours. But he was able in that time to open the Budapest Cyber Conference, have meetings with PM Orban and Foreign Minister Martonyi, and do a TV interview and a press conference. An impressive pace. And the trip went very smoothly.
