The Tranzit Festival is organised with the aim to help integrate Hungary’s youth into politics and prepare them for participation in public life, Minister of Defence Csaba Hende stated at the festival’s opening yesterday. This year, the festival took place between 21 and 25 August in Kőszeg near the Austrian border.

Dialogue for Hungary MPs Benedek Jávor yesterday politely rejected an invitation from Socialist Party president Attila Mesterházy to join the opposition consultations that have been going on since early January. Mesterházy wrote to Jávor and fellow MP Tímea Szabó, expressing hope that they share the Socialists’ view of the need for the democratic opposition to combine their forces.
