Hungary Has Second Lowest Gas Prices In EU

Thanks to government mandated cuts to utility fees, Hungary has the second lowest price of natural gas in the European Union based on purchasing power parity (PPP), Fidesz MP Szilárd Németh told a press conference in Budapest. Whereas in 2010 Hungary was the country where consumers had to pay the most for gas in the EU, now only Romania has lower gas prices, based on PPP exchange rates.

The Hungarian-born American art collector Imre Pákh told MTI he will not take measures to remove Mihály Munkácsy’s monumental painting “Golgotha” from a Debrecen gallery until the end of the summer. Earlier, Pákh said the painting would be removed from the Déri Museum on June 25, after talks on its sale to the state of Hungary reached an impasse.

About 60% of Hungarians would recommend their workplace to others, perform above expectations for the good of their employer and don’t want to change jobs, a survey by outsourcing company Aon Hewitt shows. Employees in Hungary are most satisfied with their supervisors and their co-workers and most critical about their pay and promotion prospects, the survey said.
