- 8 Oct 2024 12:38 PM
Condé Nast Traveller recently announced its 2024 list of Europe’s friendliest cities, showcasing destinations that offer travellers warmth, hospitality and an inviting atmosphere.
Valencia, Spain, came third on this list, and cities such as Vienna, Berlin, and Palma also came in high positions based on votes by readers of Condé Nast Traveller.
This year’s results show that a destination is memourable not just due to its beautiful sights but also because of the friendly attitude of locals.
in particular, Stockholm was recognised for its unique balance of modernity and tradition, offering a friendly environment without losing its Scandinavian charm.
It's said that Budapest’s growing popularity reflects its historic architecture, affordable cost of living standards, and role as a cultural hub for Central and Eastern Europe. Here’s what CN wrote:
“Known as the City of Spas, Budapest is home to over 100 natural springs, powering thermal baths across the city. Unwind in 18 pools of therapeutic waters at Széchenyi Baths, Europe's largest bath complex, or experience a beer bath’s unique healing power at Lukács.
The city is an architectural treasure trove too, from the baroque Buda Castle to the innovative Chain Bridge. Locals are proud of all these beautiful attractions and keen to share them with others.”
