Sunday morning Lydia and I explored the newish Szimplakert Haztaji Piac (open Sunday 9-14, Kazinczy u. 14, VII ker). I cannot stand the crowds at night at Szimpla, so I tend to avoid it. As the renovation of the Buda Castle’s roads continue, the castle’s main entrance will be closed from road traffic as of 3 September (Monday). Road traffic and public transport changes are expected. In connection with the renovation of the roads at Buda Castle, the gate at Bécsi kapu tér will be closed between 3 September (Monday) and 11 September (Tuesday). Read on for more details.

I have been cycling up to Romai Part and Szentendre for years, and have always loved the four water and coal-clock towers at the old gas works. Luckily they have managed to survive (so far) the reconstruction of the old chemical works as an industrial park. In 1908 a municipal decision was made to replace several obsolete gas factories with a single new facility.
