"Hungary posted a record large trade surplus of EUR 653.1 million in March, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) has reported on Monday. The monthly surplus is bigger than the one achieved in the whole of 2009.

"In January, the Dutch Embassy became the first embassy in Hungary to go Fair Trade. The embassy just placed their first order of Treehugger Dan's Fair Trade Kafequo coffee (55% arabica/45% robusta). The beans come from Peru and Tanzania, and are mixed and roasted by Caffe Agust in Italy. This move was quickly followed by the Gambian Embassy.

Fitch Sees Crisis Delaying Eastern European Euro Adoption

"The global financial crisis has caused a further setback to euro adoption timetables in most EU member states in central and eastern Europe (CEE), owing to a marked widening of budget deficits and higher sovereign bond spreads, Fitch Ratings has said in a new report on Thursday. The exception, in the rating agency’s view, is Estonia, which Fitch expects to join the euro area in January 2011.
