Bilateral agreements on the South Stream gas pipeline are a violation of EU law, the European Commission declared yesterday. The agreements concluded by Russia with seven European countries, including Hungary, must be renegotiated, the European Commission’s director for energy markets Klaus-Dieter Borchardt told the European Parliament on Wednesday.
