He’s the lovable beatboxing champion, the festival favourite last heard playing the charismatic stoner on Fatboy Slim’s global smash ‘Eat Sleep Rave Repeat’, right? Well, yes, that was Beardyman. But the musician emerging from hiding on his startling new album Distractions is virtually a different species altogether.

Selling out high profile venues, having a Main Stage slot at Sziget Festival 2014 foreshadows a rising of a new beat generation. Ivan & The Parazol, the five piece rock and roll band’s career started in 2010, when they met at a private music school in Budapest. Their groovy rock tunes quickly gained a very engaged and rife audience.

There is a very real refugee crisis unfolding in Hungary, and nobody knows how long it will last. The government provides funding for everything except essentials: billions of forints squandered on billboard campaigns and a 175-kilometre border fence, while the migrant servicing system is overwhelmed. The answer has yet to be found on a European level, as well.
