Jerry Bergonzi’s career started in the late 70’s with one of the most-in-demand formations of those days, the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Although the classic old warhorse, one of the most often played tunes in the world, Take 5 had been composed by Jerry’s predecessor, Paul Desmond, Jerry himself also did justice to it several times.

Ennio Morricone (85) gave a memorable concert in Budapest’s Papp László Arena on Saturday evening, February 15. For the second time in a Budapest concert in ten years, Morricone was welcomed by a nearly sellout house and a resounding ovation. Titled “My Life in Music”, his concert tour took him to Budapest after Paris, Prague, Berlin and Zurich.

Despite her young age, Moscow-born Alexandra Soumm is one of the most renowned and sought-after soloists today. She won the in-house competition of the Vienna Conservatory in 2002, before going on to win the Eurovision Young Musicians competition in Lucerne in 2004.
