From the organisers: One afternoon in the summer of 2002, I was drinking wine with one of my musician friends in a garden in Veszprém. He told me that he had seen Pavarotti in Austria, performing in a cathedral which had room for about a thousand people.
He was surprised, that the Maestro gave a concert in such a small place.

Now on until 29 September. Sári Ember’s latest works are close follow-ups on her previous exhibitions, meanwhile from a different, fictive point of view she rediscovers her outlook on the topics of family heritage, procession of the course of the past and people’s relation to objects.

That's the essence of Ignite, an event where 12 pre-selected speakers will take on this challenge live. Ignite began in Seattle, USA, in 2006, and since 2009 Ignite Budapest has been a favourite event in the expat community.

Expulsion Of Germans One Of “Darkest Chapters” In Hungarian History, Says State Secretary

The expulsion of ethnic Germans from Hungary from the end of WWII was one of the “darkest chapters of Hungarian history,” a state secretary at the prime minister’s office said in Bonyhád, in southern Hungary, on Saturday. Árpád Potápi addressed the unveiling ceremony of a plaque for those Germans who were forced from their homes in Bonyhád and other localities in Tolna county.
