Born in 1919, his family made a living from agricultural activities on their land in the vicinity of Törökszentmiklós, in the Northern Great Plain region of central Hungary. He completed his legal studies in the Collegium Juridicum, Foglarianum in Eger, and obtained his doctoral degree in Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca).
