The Életmentő app (which literally means “life-saving” in Hungarian) was developed by the Hungarian National Ambulance Service together with Vodafone Hungary. It lets you request help from emergency services directly through your phone, and sends them your real-time location. No need to know the nearest cross street. Hungary’s opposition E-PM alliance urged the government to scrap plans of levying a tax on internet data transfers in a statement released today. According to estimates, the government’s plans mean that every downloaded gigabyte would cost Hungarian internet service providers HUF 150, and many believe ISPs would simply pass the tax on to users.
