Lidl Continues Expansion in Hungary as Sales Hit New High

Net sales revenue rose to HUF 1,485.8bn from HUF 1,325.9bn, according to the financial report published on Friday.
Lidl paid more than HUF 64bn in the special retail tax and corporate tax, almost double its net profit, Lidl told MTI.
Despite the high sectoral taxes, Lidl aims to reinvest the profit generated in Hungary in the country. In the 2025 business year, it spent a record high of HUF 74.7bn on domestic investments.
Lidl Magyarorszag now employs close to 10,500 workers and spent over HUF 100bn on employee-related payments and personnel expenses.
With the mediation and support of Lidl Magyarorszag, HUF 160bn worth of Hungarian goods were sold directly to Lidl retain chains abroad, 15pc more than a year earlier.
Lidl operates 220 stores in Hungary.
