Central Europe Dance Theatre: 'Recortes', National Dance Theatre, 30 June

The vision of Recortes does not allow our words or gaze to convey our own feelings reaching beyond our desires. Like when you are reading a newspaper and clip out the articles from your favourite writer.
Adventures, experiences, pieces that imply human relationships, mainly love, friendship and empathy. (There is no empathy, the world has become antipathetic, we have lost our communication skills and we have become numbers.) Friends, family, love, meeting new people, the simplest things.
How dowe relate to each other? How do we love or refuse each other? How do we react? How do we hurt someone accidentally or on purpose, when even a frown on our face can change someone’s day? All of our experiences feed a new one and it depends only on us how it will build up.
Two people, far from each other, not talking to each other. Two people, close to each other, not looking at each other.
They do not look at each other even when they find common ground, only after one another. They do not have to say anything; their bodies will speak for themselves, the most basic way to connect.
To others, to ourselves, to our utterances, to everything. Each and every of our subtle expressions is a page of an open book.
Sometimes we forget to enjoy the dance, that we have created something, that we love it. We try to tell or reciprocate something; instead, we become machines. However, if we cooperate, we are great, and that is what we should remember. In addition, do not forget about the oranges.
