On 15 April 2013, the Boston Marathon Bombing claimed the lives of three people, brutally maiming 17 others, and injuring hundreds more.

The stage play Boston Strong is a fictional account of a group of university students whose lives are intertwined by the events leading up to this horrendous act of violence and the aftermath that follows. In the wake of the bombings, Playwright János Dégi, who was based in Boston at the time of the bombing, felt deeply moved to create this piece based on the interactions he had with local community members.

We are gathering on 15 April 2023, the 10th year anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombing to consider the nature of terrorism in America, about connection, identity, how terrorism can destroy the building blocks of a society from its core, and yet how communities can exhibit resilience from some even deeper levels within.
