Royal Visit To Budapest Millenáris Park, Full Rehearsal Of ZARE Concert
- 17 Mar 2010 2:00 AM
Zene a Rasszizmus Ellen - ZARE (Music Against Racism) is a Hungarian movement, co-ordinated by the Hungarian NGO "Foundation of Subjective Values". It follows the footsteps of British movements Rock Against Racism (RAR) and Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR).
The aim of the movement is to take a stand against dangerous extremist ideas such as racism. Using the language of music ZARE hopes to join people and stand up together for the rights and equality of all people, and support tolerance.
ZARE was initiated by the British Embassy Budapest and launched at the Sziget Festival on Zero Day in August 2009, with the participation of well-known Hungarian and UK bands. Another event was organised to celebrate Christmas-Hanukkah with Roma and klezmer concerts. In addition to organising musical events, ZARE is trying to develop the background ideology of anti-racism, organising club events, workshops and educating students and teachers.
A small team of students, who are part of the Roots & Routes project (an international talent scouting and managing program) will make short report film about The Prince's visit event, which will be shown at the ZARE concert on 21 March."
