'Presidance: Hungarythm', Millenáris, 30 April
"Bertalan Vári – Harangozó-prize winning dancer – the founder and the creative “brain” of the artistic concept of Presidance not only includes all his experience in the performance, but introduces a unique production and scenery – something that is yet unknown in Hungary, and only comparable to foreign stars like Cirque du Soleil or Michael Flatley.

The high standards are well characterized by the company’s casting and composition style: at the April casting applicants from all around the country were rehearsed for the 12 dancer positions of Presidance. Most of them study or used to study at the Hungarian Dance Academy, and despite their young age most of them acquired professional experience at well-known associations, like the Honvéd Dance Company or ExperiDance.

Music is presented by Anselmo Crew, a formation playing opuses of Kerekes Band and Csík Band. Two acrobats – introducing circus elements into the performance – of Cirque du Soleil Company joined Presidance. Their appearance does not only serve as delicacy for spectators of dance, but makes the production more enjoyable and unforgettable to everyone.

With the combination of dance, music and circus elements, Hungarythm invites you to an unforgettable journey for two times fifty minutes. Important points of our history flash up as we get a sight of the world of people’s moods and emotions. Sometimes crying sometimes amused or even in great laughter we recognize ourselves and see our own fate.
The performance is unique not only in its concept, but also in interactivity: the audience is equal participating in the show and the experience.

Feedbacks are better than previous expected. The company debuted well before the Hungarian premier at an art festival in Montreal, where they got invitations to festivals in Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore and Hong Kong. Along with these invitations, a real sign of success is that the company got invited to the New York Broadway.

The scenery is created by János Szabolcsi – who also worked with Steven Spielberg; the costumes were designed by a nationally and internationally well-known designer, Éva Vass.
Lighting is organized by Tamás Bányai, who created spectacular scenery with the use of video projection, UV- and intelligent lamps."
