'Rampant But Not Acceptable' - Young People in Hungary Reject Corruption
Most young people in Hungary see corruption in the country "rampant but not acceptable", the Integrity Authority said on Monday, citing a Eurobarometer survey.

According to the authority's report, 87 percent of people aged 15-29 said corruption was wide-spread in the country and viewed "bribery and pulling strings as the simplest way to obtain public services".

Two-thirds of them also thought that "corruption is part of Hungary's business culture".

Fully 38 percent of respondents in the Eurobarometer survey said that the level of corruption had not changed in Hungary during the period of 2021-2024, while 25 percent said it had slightly increased and another 25 percent saw a significant worsening.

Respondents said it was primarily political parties (49 percent) and politicians (48 percent) that were involved in corruption, as well as the health sector (41 percent).
