The new, contactless vending machines can be remotely operated, he added.
A 223-million-forint initiative - partially supported by a 139-million-forint EU grant—has enabled H-Vend to create a seamlessly integrated hardware and software ecosystem, specifically designed to benefit large-scale operators managing extensive vending networks.
These next-generation vending machines feature interactive touchscreens, offering customers instant access to product details and promotional deals.
A dedicated mobile app enhances the user experience by allowing customers to browse items, check nutritional information, and complete contactless payments. In corporate environments, employees can also authenticate and make purchases using RFID-enabled ID badges.
For operators, the system is equipped with advanced sensors that continuously monitor machine performance and detect potential faults. Leveraging artificial intelligence, the platform analyzes data, conducts remote diagnostics, and attempts automated troubleshooting before notifying technicians.
This proactive approach optimizes efficiency and minimizes downtime. Additionally, businesses can use the mobile app to launch loyalty programs and promote new products directly to customers.
One of the project's standout innovations is a vacuum storage system for coffee beans, which helps maintain flavor and freshness over extended periods. This enhancement directly improves beverage consistency and quality, making it a valuable asset for vending machine operators.
H-Vend, which primarily operates in export markets, serves customers in 20 countries, with France, Spain, and Italy being its most significant regions. Over the years, the company has established a strong international presence and a loyal customer base.
The family-owned business, currently employing 34 people, recorded 673 million forints in revenue in 2023, marking a 32% increase from the previous year. However, net profits declined from 57 million forints in 2022 to 26 million forints in 2023. Despite this, H-Vend remains committed to expansion and further innovation.
With the rising demand for cashless and AI-powered vending solutions, H-Vend is well-positioned to be a key player in shaping the future of automated retail, both in Hungary and internationally.
