'Sleepwalkers In India', Museum of Applied Arts, Until 22 August
"In 1929, two fragile women set off on a journey to India on foot. All they had was a little money, and a great calling. Following a series of fortunate accidents they reached the country of their dreams, which welcomed them not only with open arms, but with an abundance of things to paint.

They painted outstanding personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi, the „Great Soul”, Nobel-Prize winning poet Rabindranath Tagore, members of the Nehru family and the Dalai Lama.

During their eventful life they created thousands of paintings, and in our exhibition, which opens on the Night of Museums, we will showcase a selection of these works from the collections of their hometown Nagykanizsa Museum and the Hopp Ferenc Museum of Eastern Asiatic Arts.
