SopronFest 2025: Music, Culture & Happiness in the Heart of Western Hungary
Three years ago, SopronFest was launched with the goal of bringing something fresh and vibrant to the Hungarian festival scene — in both content and format. Set in Hungary’s westernmost city, the festival returns this year during the Pentecost weekend, from June 6–8, with headliners like Timmy Trumpet, Parov Stelar, Worakls, Dub FX, and top Hungarian acts including Halott Pénz, Majka, Ákos, and Desh performing at the picturesque Lővérek Hills.

But the celebration goes well beyond music.

From June 1–8, the entire city of Sopron comes alive with more than 200 events at 75 locations, including the PodcastFest, literary gatherings, and a variety of culinary happenings.

This year’s central theme is happiness — a topic explored through concerts, talks, and discussions that ask: What does happiness mean, and how can we achieve it in our daily lives?

PodcastFest: Voices that Inspire

The Telekom PodcastFest features over 20 programs during the festival. Highlights include:

An opening talk on June 1st with Gergely Horváth in conversation with Zsuzsa Rakovszky, Rita Cserbik, and András Lovasi, aptly titled "Happy Festival!"

Popular personalities like Lil Frakk and L.L. Junior appear in live podcast recordings.

Generational expert Krisztián Steigervald teams up with Telekom’s iconic leader Béla Szabó for a talk on happiness across life stages.

Celebrated Hungarian interviewer Endre Kadarkai will host unique discussions, including a touching conversation with psychotherapist Annamária Tari and Professor András Csókay titled "Sick Yet Happy?"

Some of the talks will be available online after the festival for those who miss them live.

 Literature Meets Theater

In collaboration with Líra Bookstores, the charming streets of Sopron become stages for literary and theatrical figures.

Notable appearances include:

Authors László Darvasi and Ádám Nádasdy

A special conversation between János Kulka and Dorka Gyárfás
