Hollókő Easter Festival @ World Heritage Village
The now four-day-long Hollókő Easter Festival is a celebration of traditions and the joy of life - a place everyone must see.

The annual Hollókő Easter Festival awaits visitors with folklore programs, traditional gastronomy, the revival of folk customs and the inevitable sprinkling of water; this year's four-day event will also include concerts, family and children's programs in the World Heritage village in Nógrád County, the organisers said.

According to the announcement, the programs will be free on Good Friday, April 18. There will be a flea market on Petőfi Street, egg painting at several locations, archival photos will be on display, and old Hollókő films will be screened at the Visitor Center, where the Lenten customs of Hollókő will also be revived.

On Holy Saturday, gastronomic and traditional programs are held in the courtyards of the Old Village with clapping and demonstrations of folk life. 

The Nógrád Dance Ensemble teaches dances, the Hollókő Folk Dance Ensemble presents a hoop dance and a folk costume show, and you can cook plum dumplings with the Kétbodonyi Tradition Keepers.

On Sunday, the Easter mass begins at 9:30, followed by the resurrection procession. 

Guests are welcomed with sprinkling at the church and the lower well, the Nógrád Dance Ensemble, the Fonó Folk Dance Ensemble and the FOLT band will entertain with songs and dances, and in the Guzsalyas Costume Collection, visitors can listen to the tales of the Paloc storyteller János Bukovics.
On Sunday and Monday, Pajtaárok will also organize programs on the stage. 

On Sunday, after the opening ceremony starting at 11 a.m., the Hollókő Dance Ensemble and the Hollókő Zither Players will perform an Easter program, followed by the Fonó Folk Dance Ensemble and the Nógrád Dance Ensemble. Dűvő will give a folk music concert, and the Kerekes Band and Mária Petrás will perform a grand concert at 3 p.m. 

In the evening, there will be a splashing dance house at the Dr. Román András Visitor Center with the Dűvő band and the Nógrád Dance Ensemble.
 

On Monday, after the Easter Mass, visitors are invited to the " big Easter sprinkling " at Ófalu, where dance and music programs will continue. 

After the performances of the Fonó Folk Dance Ensemble, the Nógrád Dance Ensemble and the Dűvő on the main stage, the grand concert of the Ritmusa band will begin at 3 p.m.
 

According to the organizers, the event is free for children under the age of seven and those with a mobility, hearing or visual impairment upon presentation of an ID card, and their companion can visit the festival with a discounted ticket.

Attention was also drawn to the fact that the Hollókő Easter Festival and the Hollókő Old Village can only be visited from Saturday to Monday by purchasing the official ticket for the event. 

The ticket includes the entrance fee to all the programs and some of the attractions of the settlement, so you can visit the Playhouse, the School, the Postal Museum, the Village Museum, the Guzsalyas Costume Collection, the Handicraft Printing Workshop, the Doll Museum and the castle.

  • Children (7-18 years) / Seniors: 4,000 HUF


April 20-21, 2025:

  • Adults: 6,500 HUF

  • Children (7-18 years) / Seniors: 5,000 HUF
