Man Kills Cop, Bystander, Then Himself In Hungary

The police officer had stopped a Ford Fiesta on route 71 to check the identity documents of five young adults, who were travelling to the lake for a holiday. Initial reports said the gunman had pulled ahead into another lane and opened fire on the police officer and the youths in the parked car.
Gamauf was shot in the head and died immediately. Németh was hit in the heart and passed away before ambulance staff reached the scene.
Another of the passengers, 25-year-old, L. J. Sz., who had been sitting next to Németh, was seriously hurt in the attack and rushed to hospital. The Zala county man was stable after undergoing surgery, Veszprém hospital director-general Jenő Rácz said later.
Police found a Skoda Octavia (or a BMW according to other reports) near Felsőörs at noon with the body of B. Sz., who appeared to have committed suicide, lying near the vehicle.
The man who reportedly carried out the murder is 33-year-old Swiss-Hungarian citizen B. Sz., who had arrived in Hungary on Monday. Police have not yet been able to establish a motive for the attack.
Sz.’s Swiss-registered car contained a cache of arms, one of which may have been the murder weapon. The man was found wearing a bullet-proof vest and a black hooded top, according to the website of Veszprémi Napló.
Gamauf had reportedly been demonstrating police work to a pupil on a summer work placement when he stopped the car."
