Germans Used Drugs To Beat Hungary In World Cup

According to an article in Le Mond of 26.10.10, the German team that beat Hungary in the football World Cup final of 1954 received "injections of a doping product during the tournament". Apparently the Team German final victory was a major surprise as Hungary had trounced them 8-3 in the group stage of the tournament. Here's a retro video of the action.
This information apparently comes from a study called "Doping in Germany", funded by the German Olympic Committee, which focuses on doping in sport in West Germany. The final version of this report will be published in 2012, it's said to reveal that doping was heavily used by Germany in high performance sport in 1949.
